Forklift
trucks account for about twenty four percent of the
working area transport accidents once a year, usually as results of inadequate coaching, inadequate oversight, and poor organization of
traffic routes within the working area or the negligence of fellow staff. Any causes of accidents may be unsafe
workplaces, unsafe systems of labor, and unsuitableness of
the self-propelled or forklift truck for the task or setting or defective
working tools.
Often it's not only the
driver of the forklift truck that gets wounded. About 60% of injuries are inflicted on people who are operating round the forklift truck. These injuries may be very serious
sometimes that is
unsurprising- the vehicles are usually heavy and sometimes with very restricted
sight from driver.

How do these accidents happen?
Unstable / Unsuitable Ground:

When the
forklift truck is lifting or carrying a load at height then the vehicles centre
of gravity is very high, creating the truck
unstable. If the floor is sloping or has divots or
potholes then this may cause the vehicle falling over.
Push through:
This is often generally where the forklift
driver is attempting to move one thing from
one corner of warehouse, as an example and it pushes objects off the opposite facet that may fall
on and injure workers walking under.
Reckless Driving:
Collisions don't seem to be uncommon
in quick pace
distribution centers or warehouses where drivers don't seem to be paying special attention. This may usually cause self-forklift trucks colliding and some serious injuries to workers.
Unstable load:
It happens often that
the load of
the forklift truck fall on workers, inflicting severe and typically fatal
injuries.
Pedestrian run-over:
Some forklifts have rear wheel steer which does mean that they move
in a completely different way then most vehicles. This may confuse
some individuals concluding them obtaining their foot
or worse run over.
Collisions:
A forklift vehicle could displace some object on site that may result in fall onto a passerby or somebody walking nearby.

It is the employer’s duty to make sure the protection of all staff while on site which has correct coaching standards, provision of iron hats, high visibility jackets, safety boots and maintenance and repairing of forklift truck or the safe and sound operation of the vehicle
